restricters on my NC30

I am sure this thread has been done to death but i need a bit of info. I know there are two types of restrictors for the nc30. One is behind the speedo somewhere and the other is a black box inside the back seat with a series wires coming out. Ive had a quick look at both areas on my bike but cant find either!! I am sure it is de-rstricted but just want to make sure. Is the speedo de-restricter visible? and do both do the same job?

There is only 1 restrictor on the NC30 Jap model - this is a speed restriction that is triggered in the speedo when the needle passes over a sensor at 112mph/180kmh.

to derestrict this you need to either buy an M-Max box which plugs into the loom ast the speedo end and foolws the CDI into thinking you never go above 180kmh.
Or, get a restrictor and solder it in the same place..forthe same effect.
Or, get a HRC SP box this fits in line with the CDI (at the back of the bike) which does the same tihng..

You can have a 33bhp restriction kit fitted but this is nothing to do with the speedo etc...

you are confusing yourself matey..

you will have full power unless someone has fitted the 33bhp kit which are 4 circular discs that sit between carbs and inlets.

get your airbox off, pull your carbs off...

clean them and chekc theya re set up while you do this and you will also see if it is restricted...

does it struggle to get 100mph?

Obvoiusly being a police officer you'll never be doing those speeds on the road ;)

But it is usually pretty obvious if it is restricted - it just won't want to go over 100 or 112mph (seem to remember that being the limit)

Do as CMSMJ1 says and have a nose around the bike - take the carbs off and get to know how it all works - it makes it so much easier to diagnose problems if you know whats going on

Smev 8-)

I've never really felt the need to remove the 180km/h restriction on my road bikes, but different parts of the world have different rules (and fine$!).

You'll soon now if it has this speed restriction if you try to go faster than this. There are cheap and easy ways to get around it though.

Let's see this private road Occifer...!!
