my nc is going to have a complete strip down from next month onwards and realistacly will be off the road for a few months, so ive been offered a zxr 400 for 350 bike in good condition but need fork seals and front tire for mot, how much of a job is it on these to change the fork seals as i have no idea about the zxr are they similar to the nc??

fork seals on a zxr is an arse of a job without proper tools (USD innit), have a look in the forums on zxrworld.co.uk and there's a few threads on DIY methods ..

personally i pay someone to do it ... (normally costs about £100 + seals + oil)

be prepared to dislike the handling and midrange, and get addicted to the topend :)

don,t know about fork seals, but the handling is normally great, but zimms right about being top endy, but i love mine, even though to take off you have to give it some welly!!!

dont get me wrong, i love zxr's (have 5 of em!) including the handling, but it will feel alien after an NC, kinda pointy, and harsh.

~Bit late I think but . . . .

own & ride both they are like chalk and cheese

The ZXR is much more bullish than the NC a lot more involved ride.
