Hi guys

Bought a new mint gearbox for my nc29 and now it wont fit! Am i doing something wrong with the fitment or did the idiot salesman gave me an nc23 gearbox?

Why won't it fit, where won't it fit? Input shaft, output shaft, too long, too short, gears won't mesh, etc etc.

Looks like the 2nd gear on the output shaft is a bit too big for the input shaft. Thats the cause of the prob.
So I called the idiot who sold it to me and he told me that I`ll just have to buy the matching input shaft.$$$

Count the teeth on the second gear (should be 40 on one and 17 on the other it meshes with). Doesn't sound like he has sold you an NC29 shaft and gears if it doesn't fit. If he had sold you the right one there would be no need to buy a 'matched' input shaft as the gears would already be matched.

Might be he has sold you an NC23 or NC30 item. Hard to tell without seeing.

I've found the problem. The bike looks like the nc29 (with nc29 frame number) but it has a nc23 motor with the 23 gearbox as well. Anyway, got the gearbox sorted, new oil filter & oil. Now it runs like a dream, I love it . Much better than the vfr.

all cbr engine numbers start with nc23...
the nc23's barrels are a seperate item to the crankcase...the nc29's are as 1.
