Hi all
I am looking at a track bike and have seen a GK76 for sale.
I've never had one, however I have had an NC30 and ZXR400. My mate had a GK76 and the ZXR did seem a lot quicker but I think his was restricted.
I have had a few people tell me that they dont handle that well and parts are an issue.
Whats your thoughts?
thanks

nothing wrong with the handling, i was quicker on my old 76a than I am yet on either my nc29 or nc30. Parts are around of evilbay, maybe not to the extent of honda etc but not hens teeth. Carbs seem to cause problems but new O rings (about a tenner) solve most things. Electrical system can stop the thing sparking and be a pain to trace and fix.

There is nothing wrong with the handling and I know others that have them as track bikes and theres a couple using tham as race bikes.
The only down side is the parts availability compared to the Hondas (as above) Just don't drop it too often and you should be ok.

Easily on par if not better handling-wise than the other 400's as long as you have the right tyres.
They are down on power though compared with the other bikes mainly as there hasn't been many people who have tuned a gixer. The quickest stocker is the zxr.
Fairings ain't that cheap at around 250quid a throw. But the 76 shares quite a few bits with the rgv250 and the bandit so bits aren't too bad to come by.
If its for racing another bike might be a cheaper performance bet but would make a good track day bike
