remove the diaphram covers on your carbs, remove diaphram plus slide and needle. you can then remove needle to slide one of your 0.5mm washers on that will in turn raise your needle 0.5mm

Maybe this is a silly question, but if you don't know where they go why did you buy them?

I did a write-up on the ols forum about drilling slides and fitting extra washers. I'll post that if you need it.

Nope - that is a bloody good question mate. No digs at anyone specifically..but you need to know why you are doing something..not blindly doing it because somebody said you should or that it is a good idea.

get some reading done on how carbs work people, then get riding your bike adn figure out wha it is doing and where it is doing it...then decide if you want to richen the mixture or lean it off and more importantly decide which bits of the carbs to fettle to achieve the result.

I am not a guru :ugeek: by any stretch but I can say I have been there and tried almost everything and have had 4 and 5 washers, 108-135 jets and so on. I know what makes my bike work now even though I need to get it dyno'd so I can have the operator laugh at my spiky charts!!

You can get 1mm washers for carbs...why not throw them in?

well.... you seem to be telling me to TRY things out
BUT critisising me for trying.
bit confused there, but o well.

the reson i bought them was because i was looking through rick olivers price list, and seen them on there for £2.50 a set, and seeing as i was already placing an order with him for other things i though i might as well buy em and try em.

cheers monkey, and viper ill have a look on the old forum now. cheers

:?

Mate - am not having a dig at you. If you fit these and you know what they're gong to do..and then match that to the new performance, or lack of, then more strength to your arm.

My point would be to know why you wanted to do it in the first place. Someone might even need to remove some washers...but nobody ever seems to do so! :geek:

There is already 0.5mm washers in there as standard, so essentially you are increasing this to 1mm.

Not all of the carbs I see have them in, something to look out for.
