Thanks guys after hearing about HRC fuel tap modifying I have now fixed the problem. When I looked into the diaphragm the part that was damaged was the bit I didn't need. So now it’s not only fixed but it also didn’t cost me any money and now it should run better. I only went on it for a bit last night so I haven’t tested the bike yet. If any one has modified there fuel tap does it make much of a difference?

Modifying the fuel tap does not make any difference to the normal performance of the bike I cant remember the exact reason Honda done it but it is something to do with racing in that when doing the 8 hr racing etc the bike got to hot and the vacuum tube couldnt feed the fuel properly so they done the mod to make it gravity fed. You just have to make sure you turn the tap of when finished riding or you will end up with fuel leaking into the carbs etc and if bike left standing for a while it could crust up inside of your carbs the vacuum hose is also therfore a safety feature as once ignition is switched of then there is no more fuel flow

louie: I have the fuel tap mod, and I leave my fuel tap on all the time, with my old carbs (which have been replaced) it used to piss all over the ground, but it doesn't happen anymore. I wonder if the fuel still leaks into the engine.
