its been mentioned on here a few times.google it as it comes up with plenty info on how to do it.simple electrics really especially for novices.make sure you have what you need first.......wire,switch and a piggy back connector.also tools!!!!

Just remember to keep an eye on the gauge if your bypassing the thermostat control......

Oh no, my wife's bike had this done - and it has proved to be a royal pain in the ass, if you do decide to do it i'd pay an auto electrician to do it for you, because when it goes wrong it goes really wrong. (though the wiring might just be rubbish on this bike, but it always seems to come back to the fan?)

The reason I ask how to install a manual fan switch is that my fan never seems to come on at all, even at the specified temp!
It's proving to be an absolute ball ache as I've checked all the various systems and they all seem fine....

The fan should kick in when water temp gets somewhere over 100C (104C?), it's a pretty robust electrical system for this, are you sure your bike is getting over 100C (this is pretty close to the red on the temp gauge)?

yeah pretty sure the temp is over 100c as it boils up and spews out into the over flow bottle at a rate of knots...
The only part of the cooling system that I haven't checked is the water pump as one of the screws has been rounded off but this has nothing to do with the fan actuating at the right temp??!!

The fan won't stop the it from boiling, sounds like you have other worries.

Any suggestions as to what the problem could be are welcome!!!
