Panel spraying

Ive managed to accumulate quite a few spare fairings now and ive pretty much got a full set, so ive been working on repairing the various cracks and broken tabs etc and im planning to spray them up in the original R/W/B scheme.

I was originally going to do them using rattle cans but ive been thinking about getting a spray gun setup. Is the finish going to be all that different or can i sand and polish the rattle can finish to perfection? Im also a bit worried that the paint in the cans is a bit soft/weak and will just get ruined really easily. Also, i seem to go through cans quite fast so would it work out cheaper to get the gun etc in the long run?

Cheers for any help guys,

Matt

P.S. im a do it yourself kinda person so im not going to send them into a shop! :P

Hi Matt,
I'm still trying to find someone willing to spray my carbon fairing in R/W/B when I pick it up from Chris next week!
I don't really fancy trying it myself because if I do a rubbish job, I'll never fogive myself.

im getting a full set of panels, tank and wheels wheels done atm (2003 rossi rep) buy a friend who has just set up a bodywork shop i thought they were beyond repair but hes performing miracles(wish i had photographed it all) but im to far away from you guys to help my friend advises against the tins as a well set up gun is 20 times better he said to find a local hire shop to get the set rather than buying outright also check your paint supply shop sometimes they rent a system there is nothing worse than f**king up your final coat because the tins about empty and splattering everywhere.
