CBR Aero 400 wont start

Hello,
I'm new to the site and CBR's. I recently bought a CBR400 Aero, but have yet to get it started. The spark looked weak so I checked out the coils and lead etc and they checked ok. Spark plugs are new and so is the battery so the only thing left was the cdi. I changed the cdi and have now got a blue spark. I cleaned out the tank and carb's and put in fresh fuel.
When I try and start it it seems like it wants to start and and sometimes it sounds like its going but when I stop the starter it dies, it just wont catch and fire into life. Sometimes it back fires, but I guess thats just fuel in the exhaust.

I guess this has been covered many times but I need some help, so its over to you experts

Thanks

I got it going in the end, it had been stood for a while so I thought it might be sticky piston rings. I put a load of redex in the bore followed by WD-40 and left it for 2 days. Not sure if it helped but it fired up 1st time on trying it again!

Just following up the thread in case anyone is remotely intrested

Got my aero back on road recently after 5 years in storage. Get some redex in your carbs and check your breaks and this is gonna sound daft but check your tyres. They dont always look flat when they are!! Good luck and happy riding.

I just checked the plugs and made sure there was a good spark, cleaned out the carbs and as I said put a load of redex and wd 40 in the bores and let it soak of a couple of days. My only advice is to stick at it and keep trying it, it took a few days (had to keep recharging the battery) before she fired. I kep varying the choke and throttle and finally she went. I felt at times it was never going to start, now she starts first time, every time.
Good luck and keep trying
