Charging Issues - New Alternator?

Hi,
Decided to finally get down to the problem with my bike running out of juice. Topping it up every night is rather annoying. Actions taken so far include a new regulator and battery. (Although I fitted my new HID's yesterday, ran the bike for 30 minutes and now the battery will not take a charge! Had to swap a spare unit in there!)
Here are the following results;
Charge at idle - 12.6 volts DC
Charge at 5K - 12.6 volts DC
With lights on - 11.9v DC
At the alternator;
Resistance test on all the 3 yellow wires - 0.1 ohm (Measured from yellow wire to yellow wire)
Voltage test - 6v AC (Measured from wire to wire)
Now that to me points to a knackered alternator, but Haynes seems to say if this was the case, I'd expect poor continuity from the resistance test.
Any thoughts chaps? If it is the alternator can anyone point me in the direction of a cheap replacement? I plan to go away for the weekend soon, but the charging issues restrict how far I can go, and only in the daylight!
