i have a cowel, no idea who made it as it came with the bike 7-8 years ago.
i hardly use it as my rear pillion seat was re-covered in tribal flames.
a point to remember with cowels and UK MOTs.
if the cowel is fitted AND pillion pegs are fitted, the bike will fail MOT.
if the pillion seat is fitted and pillion pegs are NOT fitted.. MOT fail + points/fine if you get caught by police.
both are due to *if* you take a pillion, they cant sit properly.
if you use a cowel, remove the pillion pegs as well.

LP where on earth do you get your information from....
My RVF passed everytime and that had a single seat and pillion pegs fitted
My NSR recently passed with a seatpad fitted and no pillion pegs
As for points you are making that bit up.

*my* MOTer told me that when i had the cowel on when i 1st had the bike.
i have also seen several other people here say the same.
as to points, maybe you wont get them. but you'll get done for not carrying passengers properly.

I keep these new NC29 single seat cowels in stock - a couple of options:
Brand new in manufacturers packaging - £60
Brand new but old stock - few minor marks from demo purposes - £45
UK p/p on either - £8
Prices inc. VAT - delivery assumes UK postcode.
They completely replace your existing pillion seat - just transfer over the standard Honda hinge assembly and off you go - they are finished in satin black ready for your top coat colour choice - or just use as they are.
Paypal as per signature email is fine.

http://www.motuk.co.uk/mcmanual_620.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"pillion foot rests are
not required on motor bicycles that only have a
single seat." = bike with cowl
rejection reasons
"1.a.(i) A missing riders seat or
any seat insecure. (ii)
a missing or insecure footrest"
we all know that each MOTer has their own standards. some are more stringent than others. mine it seems are pretty stringent, but they are good and more importantly, i trust them.
