I've just bought an NC30 and the guy i got it from told me that it has had an mph conversion - although it still has the original clocks / clock faces that say km/h on them. I was a bit wary at first but it seems that the speedo is correct. Is this kind of conversion normal? What exactly happens during a clock conversion like this? And does anyone know how it affects the mileage / kilometer reading? If you change the clocks to display mph then does it started recording distance in miles, or is it still kilometers? Or does a clock conversion only cange what the speedo displays? Questions, questions questions! Sorry...!

By the sounds of it, the guy has fitted a Convertor on to the back of the Speedometer which changes the ratio of the gearing inside the Speedometer so that instead of turning for Kilometers, it now turns for Miles.
What you will need to know, is the exact mileage of the bike when the convertor was first fitted. Anything before that time is measured in KM and everything after that time is measured in Miles.
For Instance, if your Bike reads 10'000 on the Odometer and the Speedometer Conversion was fitted when it read 5000. Then you have done 5000 MILES since it was fitted, and , working it out, you have done roughly 3125 Miles before it was fitted so the Correct Mileage for the Bike is 8125. Not 10'000 as shown on the Odometer.
As for the readings, the speedometer can now be regarded as MPH, so if its reading 120km/h your actually doing 120mph.
