Because I only start the Nc24 every now and then its a bugger to get going . So I thought I'd fit a fuel pump to get petrol up there quickly.

This seems to have helped and now I wanna get rid of the stupid vacuum tap , So if anyone knows how to disable it I would be well happy ! lol

The stupid thing has never worked properly anyway ! lol

Whats wrong with it?

You should search for HRC fuel tap mod if you want to do it.

Even if you dont start the bike too often it still should not be too difficult to get going? Crank the bike for a few seconds then wait a minute or two for fuel to reach the carbs and then try it again?

Ive done this, turn tap off each time I park up not had any probs.

The fuel is there so much quicker with the pump in the system !
Because I run it so infrequently I always make sure the carbs are empty when the the bike is switched off ! With the pump , switch it back on , wait a second or 3 and heyho ! full carbs again ! the problem then is I have to suck on the vacuum pipe to let the fuel out of the tank !

Hence tap mod ! Second bonus , still no need to switch off fuel as the pump stops it coming out ! ta dah ! lol

Well I found a sort of diaphram mod and performed it ! lol

Now I have a fuel pump that sits in the old tool tray , wired thru my rear stop switch and upto now it sems to work !!!!!!

In the past I've had to jump the bike off my car to get the lil bugger to fire up, today I switched her on , waited for the pump to prime the carbs and gave it a go !!!!

Still not perfect ! I couldn't get into these carbs to clean the buggers out , but she did go off the button and her own battery ( eventually)

Now next problem ( and I think I know the replies I wll get) is that if you rev her up ,she will splutter out and you have to catch the engine before it dies ! It's a bit like having none CV carbs and whacking the throttle open ! CV's should do the work of throttle control for you , but it seems their not !

Any suggestions ???

The hrc tap mod will do the same thing. Just turn the tap on and it will fill your float bowls, ready to run.

The pump sounds very dodgy.

Either the carbs need dismantling and cleaning.... :Ass:

or

The fuel pump doesn't deliver sufficient fuel under load..... :scare:

or....or.....

Both. :Bmods:
