Dyno graph

This is my current engine on the dyno with the flatties. We were limited in bits to what was in the workshop, which was Feck all (I know have a shopping list). Still needs some work as you can see by the 02 graph at the bottom. It'll be interesting to feel the seat of the pants impression.

Reasonably happy with the shape of the curve, but wouldn't mind peak horse power moving a little further up the range. I'll be working on improving this and doing better in the engine rebuild I am doing.

Are you getting 65BHP just with flatslides\airbox\full exhaust?

greggo, looks a bit lumpy low down, I had the same problem with my flatties... had them balanced by a professional and now pulls great at all rev ranges. My max power was at 13750 see graph: http://www.diddley.smugmug.com/gallery/ ... 9933_aGhb8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I have since had more work done and some good dyno time.. and my #1 bike is now close to 70bhp with max power at aover 14000 will post graph when i get a new scanner. Happy to share carb set up.. just PM me.

Mixture looks good at 7k plus. Is this the engine with the dialed in cams.
Try raising the fuel level on the floats too richen up the bottom end. As for the top end a bit larger on the air correctors.
Try and get that 12.5 a little longer.

Parus, Don't get too stuck on the numbers, they only mean so much as most dynos will give a different reading. This one is fairly conservative and runs a conservative correction factor too. This engine has a lightened crank (dunno by how much), RVF pistons, minor porting on an NC23 head, and a degreed inlet cam. It also still runs it's flywheel.

The plan is to try a slightly different needle and a range of different main air jets to get it right. Now that the ice is broken I've been invited to use the tuners dyno room and workshop whenever, I can have his dyno room all day for $200! :up:

What a champ. I see a sicky coming on...

I'm keen to push that peak power a little further up the range, anyone got any ideas? Is it cam timing or exhaust related?
