is it possible to fit a 2008 R1 exhaust to my nc30 as i don't like the full length exhaust. it's to heavy and it takes the looks of the swing arm away :peace:

by r1 exhaust do you mean an underseat exhaust system? it would be very hard to fit an r1 exhaust as it is a IL4 engine and the bore is alot bigger.

underseats can be done but you need to have a custome made system made up, Smev did it tho on his Ducati rep and it looked really good

Almost anything is possible, it depends on how much effort you want to put into it.

Its probably easier to get an aftermarket exhaust specifically for the NC30. Have a look in the gallery section and see if there are any bikes with systems that you like. Then post a 'what is this exhaust system' question.

Or, either chop of your can and get a slip-on or get a set of downpipes that have already been cut and get a slip-on. The second option means you have a complete non-butchered exhaust system if you ever want to take it back to standard.

thanks for the speedy replies. no it's not for the underseat conversion.
i just want an moto GP style pipe / can. and the R1 has a good lookin exhaust.and it's light.
thanks for the heads up about the bore, didn't think of that.

i'll check the gallery for some ideas.

Are you talking the R6 bellypan exhaust?

you need to remmeber that the rear cylinders on an NC30 need the length to peform...

You might want a Tyga Maggot can....if the local police will let you get away with it!

You could probably get one made up that would provide the length the rear needed, although you haven't really got any room to play with. Could be a nice challenge though! (Why no go for the Buell/ Kawasaki er6 style if you fancy bending pipes...?!)

yip the under belly exhaust... will it work though? anyone done this exhaust mod?
i don't know where i can get the maggot exhaust here in Cape Town, South Africa :Puke:
nobody here even really has tyger kits. the vfr is ' outdated' over here and scarce to even find parts let alone extra, like carbon fibre bits. has to be imported. way too expensive.

its a tricky job but its possible, would prob mean most of the system would have to be remade.

Have you thought about a motogp style ehaust, one like the yamaha m1 has with a small diameter short can. Cheaper than a custom made under engine system.
