NC29 stuff-general lack off it

Is it just me or is there a major shortage of anything trick for the nc29 coming up. I mean you look on Ebay or in the "for sale"section on here and its awash with nc30 stuff! I mean im only window shopping, but its kinda getting boring now.

It's always been the same mate, they pop up every now and again but it rare.

hmm, u would of thought so, ive been mooching around to see whats about for a long time now, it just seems to come in dribs and drabs. shame really.

it depends what you want mate, it's all available out there, systems, scoops, rearsets, clipons etc but it's all new so you have to pay the big bucks.....

Like LP says NC30 common as muck, it's the NC29 stuff that's collectable now.
I've got some HRC velocity stacks and mounting plates and a wiring loom I am thinking of selling plus some TSR headers, minus the collector and link pipe I'm thinking of selling as well.
Try to entice me with a bidding war.

ive never rode the vfr. i know its a stupid thing to say, with it being a v4 and my nc29 in an inline 4. but what sort of things set them apart power wise? like how the thing rides?

back in the olllllddddd days...... i went to view a VFR400 in a show room, it had been raced as had loads of lock wire in/on the usual parts. i walked round it then looked up, it was then i saw the most beautiful bike there...... the CBR i now own. that was 7 odd years ago.
3 years ago i had a chance to see if i was missing out on not buying that VFR that day.. so i got one.
positives: that V4 sound is unique and sexy. the single side swing arm is sexy..............errrmm.. thats it!
They have very tall gears, eg you can do 50-60mph near red line in 1st! 30mph limit in 1st as to a comfortable 3rd on the CBR.
to me and this is MY opinion of them....
they are a lazy ride! kinda like a automatic car, just open the throttle and it does the rest! i never once felt like i even wanted to "thrash it", not like my CBR, never really had that buzz. i even let other people ride it.. to me that says i didnt care too much for it as NO ONE rides my CBR! The CBR i now know made me learn what gear to be in to do what ever, it taught me how to ride a bike properly.
the VFR got sold 5 months later!
i made the right choice 7years ago in buying the CBR.

The CBR was the budget of the honda 400 fully faired bikes, it was the cheapest to buy new and is a lot less trick than the V4s.
The V4s feature (the awesomly engineered engine aside) a sprag clutch, a lighter thinner frame, better brakes and on the UK model a better rear shock and an oil cooler as well as everything the CBR had like adjustable suspension.
The reason there is more trick parts available is because if you raced a Honda in the F3 championship you either raced sn NC30 or an NSR therefore the tuning companys over there made bits for those bikes more than the CBR, yes there were kits from HRC for the 23 and 29 but it means nothing really there were also kit parts for the MC28 and NC35 and they were never raced as they were realeased to late.
Don't get me wrong I have invested a lot of blood, sweat, tears and money into my NC29 however if I was offered the same spec V4 as a swap I would swap without hesitation.
All of the bikes are born from racing some with more sucess than others, yes the 30 has a tall 1st gear and the V4 lacks the top end rush of the IL4 but the torque you get at lower revs and the grunt out of the bends negates that.
In answer to your question veze IMHO on the road the V4 is a better bike as on the road torque is king the thinner fame makes for better handeling. But if you like your bikes to wail it'S the CBR for you.
That's that can of worms well and truely opened.
