3TJ Frame Protectors

Well, after the sale of my trusty fireblade over the weekend, my attention can finally turn to completing my 3TJ hybrid. This was originally brought as a cheap track hack but looks like it is now going to spend at least some of its time on the road.

A couple of things still to complete, i need to source a screen, i was planning to buy a clear double bubble one from ebay, unless anyone has a better source. I'm still lacking the gear link rod, which fell off on my test ride, i'm tempted with the ebay rearsets from race supplies direct & a couple of bolts which have been ordered. The fueling needs some work but i'm going to hopefully get it over to a local dyno in the next couple of weeks.

The reason for this post, the frame has a couple of marks from a previous crash, as a cheap track hack i wasn't bothered, now as my sole bike i'm planning to either replace the frame of for now, cover them.

Evilchicken, i seem to remember your 3TJ having carbon protectors, do you think they'll cover these marks, if so where did you source them from?

Alternatively does anyone have a reasonably priced undamaged frame with V5 for a 3TJ?

I got mine from e-bay for about £40-50 they cover a ding in the frame where the handle bar hit in the previous owner's accident.

I haven't seen them since though. I noticed that AA16 used to stock them on their website but the new site isn't working. Maybe we could find a few people and ask them if they could do a few as a small run ???

Oh - yes they will cover the marks on your frame.
I had to mark and drill the holes for the fairing bolts and engine mounts
