Anyone able to confirm the exact size off the main rear wheel nut on the nc30 ?? need to remove the wheel all looks easy enough in the Haynes manual but likely to experience any probs in in sticking etc ??

The hub nut is 36mm. On my bike at least (1990 NC30)

Yep thanks for that mate , found it after a quick google just before comming back on the site this evening, just to try find a cheap source off a 36mm socket now ??!! deep impact type okay ?? how do they work in comparision to the standard type off sockets ??

It is as easy as Undoing the 36mm nut, removing the Nut/Washer and Spacer and then off comes the wheel. You may need a small tap with a rubber mallet on the wheel to knock it loose but it shouldnt be any more difficult than that.

They are selling them for £29.99 in the industrial shop near me, so this seems a bargain. As long as you have a 3/4 Drive Ratchet or Bar handy that is..

And remember, use a good amount of copperslip on the hub and wheel when remounting it, it will save any hassle with it seixing on in the future.

Okay thanks again for the info all sounds easy enough ??!! sure its just a 1/4 drive I have so that could be a bit off a problem with it being 3/4, you say a bar ?? showing my ignorance here but I take it a bar would fit thru the hole in the top part off the actual socket and you would move the socket / nut that way ??

No when I said bar I actually meant the things you get like a ratchet, but without the ratchet mechanism... Still a 3/4 drive etc.

I only have 1/2 drive ratchets and bars at my house, so I got a 1/2 to 3/4 Adapter also from ebay for about £4 plus p&P and the two work perfect together. Just do a search and youll find some good stuff on ebay.. I had it all delivered within 2 days aswell so got really good service.
