Its pretty obvious no matter how stupid, vague or repeated the question is, someone is always helping out. On a lot of other forums youd be told to pissoff and use the search function.. Nice one gents!

Ain't that the truth. The CRX forum is full of them. Woe betide anyone that dares to post something that might have been posted before. You get slated even worse for that!

Yep 100% agrea with you there mate, really is a great bunch off lads / lassies on here who are only too happy to help , has always been that way, was a member in the old adelphi forum site days ( spelling ??!! ) so been around for a very long time and can honestly say I can never remember any sort off annoymosity off any kind ever experienced, also a member off a few other bike / car related forums where some off the exchanges are enough to put you off going back on that particular site for good !!!

so well done folks, certainly appreciatte all the kind help / advice that I have been given.

Yes, I was a bit of a lurker on the old site.

Initially a lot of the discussions were quite technical in nature - understanding the innermost workings of the engines and how the bikes could be tuned. I didn’t know my jets from my emulsion tubes then (still don’t know that much more).

There was a little venting of spleens when the first Asian bodykit manufacturers appeared – disagreement over quality problems / expectations / fitting aptitudes of users – one or two peeps got close to being banned, and even the use of the manufacturer’s name was banned for a while – always a hot topic.

Nowadays there’s more evidence of “cycling” of new users. While there’s still an undercurrent of engine/performance development, many people have either figured out the law of diminishing returns in tuning an engine that’s pretty much well as good as it was designed to be or they’re more interesting in bling for their buck rather than bang for their buck.

None of it bad, just the way of the world….and the members were always, always restrained and helpful, and it’s nice to see posts from the old guard.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll return to my mountain-top retreat to continue my meditation – spending too much time walking among the real world is harmful to my puritanical sensibilities – I’ve just seen some anodised bar-ends and my eyes are beginning to bleed….

it wasn't that much really. I low sided at Cadwell on a trackday. I repaired the fairing and re-sprayed it. A chunk broke off the mid panel and was lost forever so had to re-build a piece in. Looks OK from a distance (with your eyes shut! )
The radiator was damaged so replaced that, the clip ons were replaced by Rick O as one was broken, the rearset was broken off into 3 pieces so had to replace that, as well as the brake lever. While it was in bits I decided to replace the sparkies and oil/filter. Not much really. All bolt on easy stuff! The guys were taking it to bits while I was still in the medical centre, bless em! They tried to get it back onto the track, but the radiator was pissing out coolant

We were only talking about this a few days ago and how its changed since the late 90's.
Loads of tech talk as said, still a few of us long term 400 believers to keep the spirit alive so to speak.
there are far far worse forums out there in the internet, good bunch of people here and very friendly, one or two with the manners of a goat but usualy come and go quickly.
just had a thought for a topic . . . . . .

and jo i remember you rebuilding that bodywork and i'm very impressed,i've tried my hand at fibre glassing and repairs like that and there is a lot more work to it than meets the eye
