Hi Brido,
The swingarm looks like crash damage to me, as in I think the bike has gone down on the left and bent the origonal rearset into the swingarm (then the rearset replaced), its not uncommon on these bikes. I have just finished stripping a swingarm today and as such I now have a clean standard arm fore sale if you require one. It would be £32 delivered assuming you live on the uk mainland or N.I.
Here are some pics.
I also have a late spec shock or Rvf shocker available if needed for £30 delivered.
Cheers Paul.

@ Riley.
Loving your hard sell man. Was thinking earlier how cool it was you had got your bike breaking job sorted.
I would say that most VFR/RVF I have ever seen have got that marking on the swinger. Probably crashed..but am sure it was already there before I crashed mine...lol

cheers guys for the replies you just told me what I had presumed myself but I needed a second opinion just to reassure myself. I suppose you had to ask riley

but no thanks I can live with the marks on the swinger and thanks anyhow. What about the tyre rubbing do you think its down to the shock also????

Just had a look and mine also has that mark

....the tyre rubbing is probably down to a knackered shocker.

Having replaced the rear hub on my bike recently, i was told by GF that the bearings for the rear hub are horribly expensive and you are just as well off to buy a good second hand one. he reconditioned it ( cleaned and repacked it) so thats good enough for me

Well lads just to keep all informed that replied to my post, that I have sorted out the rubbing marks on the swingarm, and it was down to a bent footrest bracket(rearset), so bought a new one and problem solved. I just need the rear suspension serviced and probably revalved and resprung for my 14stone frame

so can anyone recommend a good suspension expert to send this to, either in northern ireland or on the mainland???
cheers....
