Blasphemy: a bike box, anyone considered it?

Anyone considered putting one of those boxes on the back of the bike? so u can put your helmet and jacket in it when u arrive at ur destination?
It can be quite a mission carrying around all your gear when going somewhere...

I've seen other cheaper and more compact solutions, like having a bicycle lock cable thingy which you put through your helmet and jacket, and then cover it all with something waterproof and inconspiquous.
My nc24 has no under-seat storage. is that normal?

To suggest such heresy will no doubt be seriously challenged by the purest element of this forum. Probably better if you skulk off quietly now and never even consider it.
Also write out 1000 times " I must not bespoil that which should not be spoilt."

nah iv never been tempted tbh, whenever i need to carry stuff i either use a tank bag and then take it off and use as a backpack, a kriega tail pack and a rucksack, sometimes all three

You didn't comment on my idea of a waterproof cover and a cable lock to lock the helmet and jacket to the seat and cover it? that wouldnt be blasphemous surely :) also much more flexible situation than a permanent thing on the back.

do you guys seriously meet your friends and walk around carrying 6kg of helmet and protective clothing everywhere?
and plz dont say "take a car" thats far worse than desecrating the back of a bike :)

Durka durka stan: That one you linked is grotesque.
I meant one of these pieces of crap :)

its distracting from the bike's beauty, i guess http://www.gixxer.com/forums/attachment ... 1214051576" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
at least you can clip it off.

Do tank bags hassle you much when u want to duck down? Might be comfortable for long trips, could lie on it :)
Done right, it can look good :)

yes, boxes are ace! So are tank bags and paniers.

I think there more suited to the VFR750/800 though, plus there more comfortable to ride :D

Ive always used oxford sport panniers or a tailpack on my NC23.

I recently got a triumph that came with hard luggage. Ive got to say that the hard luggage is so much easier. It might not look as good but its definately more of a detterent for thieves.

At the end of the day, get something that works for you. If you dont want to lug all your kit around, a topbox will do the job. you can always take it off for when you are just going out for a ride.
