Turbo passed Mot but to my complete surprise and the testers when the bike was pushed outside after the test it started of its own volition. I sprinted over to it and removed the keys but the bike continued to run. 30 year old electrics at their best. Eventually the bike decided to stop as all the time it was running the starter motor was running and it flattened the battery and eventually stalled.

The tester and me jump started it and all was well again in turbo land. Don't know what had gone wrong but it makes for interesting debate - I will start by testing the solenoid.

Re the FZR- removed a sleeve, measured it, ordered 4 new ones of the near same dimensions just need a big lathe to turn down the skirts.

I estimate it will be finished for the new millennium. Anyone up for a track day in 2999?

Yeah I can use a lathe and have a Myford jobby. Did a bit of time in engineering so can turn good bar stock into scrap pretty efficiently.

Thanks for the offer but some kind but naive soul has offer to let me use theirs so when I break that one I will give you a call if that's ok.
