Ive always used a 70 profile front, i prefer the turn in over the 60 profile and have ragged it around brands many times with no problems. Are your forks dropped through the yokes at all? soft springs?

Yeah I think that's what caused it might raise them by 3mm or so. They are re worked firestorm forks but after some RVF ones ideally with yokes to make it fit onto the NC30 frame

just fitted new tyres to the race bike on easter monday.
after low-siding on the first corner in free practice

- i decided that last years pirelli dragon supercorsa-pro's needed to go.
i fitted a set of AVON 3D ULTRA SUPERSPORT's 160/60/17 + 120/70/17
as the title says - they are a supersport tyre like the pirelli's and so are fully road legal.
i spoke to a few 400 racers last season who were already running these tyres and they all said the avons where every bit as good as the pirreli/metzler tyres.
well, i must say i was impressed. thanx to their high silica content they heat up pretty quickly (a bonus for me as i dont use homo wraps - although their use may have avoided my erlier close inspection of the tarmac), they gave good feed back and made me feel safe - wich in turn allowed me to push on a bit harder through the turns and brake a little harder/later.
they felt stable under accelleration and hard braking.
no drama's - brilliant tyre. £225 fitted.
also worth noting: as i have stated above, i don't use tyre warmers (homo wraps) - the temp on monday was a measly 5-6'C and the track temp cant have ben more than 6-7'C.
avon gets a

from me

Is the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II anywhere equivalent of the old Diablo Corsa? The last few sets of tyres I've had have been the latter (I was worried at first when the shop suggested Corsas as I figured they dissolve before my eyes, but they last quite weel!), but they don't seem to be available any more. Pirelli's website is shite, it claims they don't make 120/60-17 or 150/60-17 in H rating, which is bollocks, and denies the existence of the NC35 altogether.
I ride in all weathers, so good grip in the wet, the cold, and the cold and wet is essential. I've never had even a hint of a slide on the Diablo Corsas, but on my old bike I got caught out by some Michelin thing that was great in the dry but turned into oiled oak if someone spat on the tarmac! I'd like plenty of dry grip too, but not at the expense of squaring the rear tyre off in 25 miles.... As usual, the current ones are now skinny in the middle on the rear, and well worn on the sides at the front. Not dead yet, but by the time the MOT comes the rear would probably be very close to the limit.

Struggling to find some tyres for commuting on my NC30.
Looks like I am going to have to settle for a shinko 006 on the back. Could get a BT90 but this is a rather expensive tyre same with dunlops (GPR200 or a-12H) and I don't want to square off such good tyres.

I'm running Pirelli Angels on the 18" rear.
Can't fault them for everyday commuting and the odd weekend blat.

150/60/18?
*edit*
I see it comes in 160/60/18. I am going to stick to stock 150/60/18

You won't square any of those tyres off easily, they can all handle commuting miles.
The shinkos are budget priced - the rest are priced normally!
I've heard the shinko (006) isn't probably as bad as what most people would assume (being a budget korean tyre), but I'll be sticking with European and Japanese tyres thanks.

That is what I have heard as well which is why I might try them out. It is winter here so won't be doing any weekend riding for about 4 months.

Sorry didn't see the bt090 mentioned there - definitely won't handle commuting miles!
But unbeatable for grip and feedback on road and track IMO.
