Sometimes even if your mains are ideal, you'll still have the same needle transisiton flat-spot if your needles are too long (which means the extra shim is needed to raise them slightly)

Sounds like the carbs have been stood with stale petrol in them in the past - this can erode carb internals.

Anyone fancy sticking their neck out on the rvf carbs on Vfr subject? My carbs need a complete overhaul, was thinking of dropping some nice clean rvf carbs on as it's been mentioned a few times on here?!

We, I have received my 115 jets, I got them from here;

And....FFS they are not genuine Keihin jets, they came in a 'Keyster carb parts' bag & are made in Japan. I phoned the guy who says they are made in the same factory that make Keihin & Mikuni jets & that they are a direct replacement for Keihin jets (although they are not absolutely identical to look at.
When I asked about the possibility of returning them for a refund as they weren't the genuine jets that I would have preferred, the guy kind of went off on one saying he doesn't sell mickey mouse stuff & I can take him to court over the listing if I wanted blah, blah, blah - a bit of an attitude & considering the 4 jets posted came to under a tenner!!!

The guy's a bit of a prick & certainly won't be buying from him again

I'm not overly chuffed but I'll fit them anyway & go from there.

there's nowhere in the listing that says they are genuine, maybe the part number given is an indication they are genuine?
ideally i suppose you need to measure them against a known genuine one of the right size. All of which wouldn't really be an issue other than (IIRC) you were trying for a std setting as a baseline for your jetting

Keyster jets are good quality and i have never had a problem with them, most of the carb rebuild kits you can buy now are made by keyster , the jet sizing is as good as any other manufacturer i have used and a lot cheaper than oe jets, dont be put off by the cheap price of £10 for a bag of five jets as its probably still £8 over priced as the machine that makes them will turn them out in the hundreds per hour so only cost pennies to make.

It's not really the quality but the accuracy of flow/comparability to Keihin that I'm wondering about.

eaxactly. you want fit std jets and see how it behaves, unless you have genuine keihin ones you're not going to know. however it would be nice to know how the RO and keyster jets compare
