I realise this post has gone a little off track, but I'm thinking, is the SP a little harsh for me? VFR800 as another option? I know I shouldn't, I should just go with the SP as that's where I was heading before I had a bang on the head and got the HD.
I'm going SP all the way, a mate said it's a hard ride and no fuel range, but come on, I only got 100 out of the NC tank on a good ride so is it going to be much different?!
Hopefully the HD will be gone by this time tomorrow...roll on the new year!

Right,
Now sort out a good SP, and then go your own way, full of the joys of spring, for you would soon tire of a VFR800, as you already have a good ride to work bike.
I don't find them hard, but rather single purpose, getting better the faster they go, which is why I love the slow 400s :-)
Dave.

Matt,
I can't reply to the "for sale or wanted" section.
I too found the SP1 top heavy and it was too tall and heavy for me, but you are a lot bigger than me, so I don't see a problem.
Once on the road it was such a delight, single purpose, but if the revs are kept above 3000rpm to reduce the transmission snatch, then I cannot find fault.
Dave.

I'll have you know that C90 flew through it's last mot with no issues.

Plus it's only done around 10k miles!
