They're under £10 a set anyway, and it's good practice to replace them anyway. Could always pop them out though if they've done very few miles.
If you haven't got a socket yet Halfords should stock a black impact one in 36mm, nice 6 pointed one too, it only cost me about £10 I think
yeah i hear you bill, i could slip the seals off but thats what my worry was, the grease all running out cos of the heat....bollox, shame cos there new for sure! i looked in halfords, they were out, but i ordered one from egay so sjhould be hear tommorrow hopfully. do i need any larger than the 36mm for anything else?? hardnut mentioned a 43mm or somin!? ebays the cheapest place for the said sockets mate
yeah the axel pulls out the wheel side, once undone.
the hub is held in buy the (big) circlip needs to people to undo as a rule its tight as feck.
and the hub will also need 17mm hex (m14 bolt) removed.
you got my number if you get stuck

cheers pal, should be fine...just dont own these crazy size tools lol. if i need a 41 aswel i might be better off buying a set.... rather than separate sockets, i looked egay and for a 46mm+adaptor to 1/2 drive your looking at 25 quid min!!! lol so thats 11 quid for the 36 i just ordered and 25 quid for the 46, making it £36 just to remove the rear wheel...... shocking. cheers for heads up about the m14 too, i dont have one of those either
one of these rick...

no mate just a normal 17mm socket to fit a HEX head bolt, not allen bolt.
trust me buy the sockets separately youll never need any this big unless your a lorry mechanic,
it would be handy to own sockets bellow 32mm and bellow tho i have 32, 30, 28,27,26,24.22,19,17 and they are all ive ever needed as a rule. most of them com in handy for bearings as driving tools.

cheers rick, my 150 piece halfrauds set does the job but only goes up to 27mm i think. was looking at buying a 3/4 set but your right, only ever gunna use 1 or 2 times, not enough to justify expensive sets i suppose.

Mate you need a 3/4 set of sockets, you can never have enough tools.
Never had a problem getting hold of rick, sometimes he takes a day or 2 to get back to me but always does. Think his phone number is on the list isnt it??? just call after 6pm
