Well that was short lived.

Went to the track to run it in today, first session nithing of 6 grand, which of course fouled the plugs. Second session nothing over 8-9 grand. Third session was using the throttle but no redline. Fourth session was giving it a bit of curry.

She dropped a valve on number 3. Haven't looked ot see the damage yet, but it looks like it was something I didn't put together. And to add insult to injury while I was parked up on gravel some numpty decided he would crash into me after he fixated on me in the gravel. Lucky I had the presence of mind to lift my leg or it would have been smashed between the two bikes.

The universe does not want me to race this year.

I will pull the head off when I can be fuggered, and have a look at the damage. Having just finished what has been a nightmare build, you can imagine my motivation to do it again is at zero. If it is worst case scenario, I will build a bike out of the bits I have and sell some of my good stuff, and the bike and get a 600 for next year.

flatslides with manifolds, lightened crank, TM performance rear shock For sale....watch this space.

Aaah no!
Looks like you'd made a cracking job of the bike too. As Carl said, you had a particularly bad day but don't give up. If it was a 600RR that had dropped a valve it would be a whole lot more expensive to fix. You'll get it sorted mate, don't give up.

Funny how those people just suck into you as they crash.
Stay with the bike mate- followed the build and has been very interesting. Hope the damage is minor.
I went thro the same thing with a bike i built last year- After 1 hour it stuck in 3rd and i found a peg that holds the gear drum in place had broke. Can you beleave its the 'F'ing first thing you put in the motor so i had to drop and completely strip it back out, every single part!!
