Thanks mate you where the one who made me decide to give the heads a good going over and im really glad i have after seeing the condition of the internals, im really looking forward to getting it finished and seeing the improvements that have been made!
Ill have a few small updates over the next few weeks but hopefully by the end of feb there should be some interesting posts from me in here, im a bit further behind schedule than id have liked due to being let down by my friend who was painting a few bits and a lack of new valve stem seals. Hopefully i wont miss many good days of riding in the spring!

Looks lovely that mate.
This is where the bike will love you for it. Imagine how much better it s going to work with proper sealing, clean piston crown and heads etc...

Thanks again :) i put the valves in without the springs earlier after i finished lapping the final one in and sprayed some wd40 in the piston crown checked it about 3 hours later and there was no noticeable drop in the level of fluid so im happy that it seems to be going well so far. Still have a little carbon to clean off as you can see but its getting there.

Little update for today, I have mostly been finishing some of the small details off but i thought it would be worth a post.
Before:
After: The white paint looks a little smudged but you cant see it when you see it for real.
Didnt get a photo from before but it was ratty as hell:
Versah gasket kit arrived from Rick Oliver:
Upjetted the carbs to match the JHA and gave the choke circuit holes a dousing in carb cleaner to hopefully cure the improper choke action:
Bit dirty but it scrubbed up well:
Finished the valve seats and decided to get a fancy photo of the head and all the parts:
I may have time to reassemble to engine tomorrow so i will get a few pictures to post up.

Looking good Kieran, it's the attention to detail of all the small parts that adds up to a really nicely finished bike.

Thanks guys, Im hoping it does turn out really nice when its done. There will allways be bits that im not quite happy with or that i dont get a chance to do before i put the bike back on the road, but is a rebuild ever really finished?!
