Re: Deviants nc30 strip and rebuild
yeah tony , my thoughts are/were the same on the wrap thing , i only thought of wrapping purley for the white carbon which is a satin finish and i really liked it, but he talked me out of it for the above reasons , i had a look at some of the stuff he had done , really delicate stuff like wing mirrors on his vx220 and other bits he'd done , he's done an R1 and the curves and shapes are a real pain and he's done a good job on them , just a plain gloss black finish is really good , obviously not as sheer as a good paint job but tons better than i expected , and he's several shades of white , all look quite glossy , so as its not even a quater of the cost of a paint job i wont feel the pinch if i dont like it , so im gunna give it a go, ill know after he's done the tank if its what i want,
brooky has already done me the am-pm set but by the time i had them delivered i had a change of mind and shelved that idea , but since then your build has stopped and im getting stuck on ideas i might go ahead , i was toying with dunlops rc45 scheme

still undecided

Re: Deviants nc30 strip and rebuild
due to the TSR's, standard shape/size indicators are a no go no matter how much fart assing about the cans are just too close so a little hunt for some little indicators was on ,,,,these little gems turned up today,
ultra tiny, road legal, and a perfect fit

Re: Deviants nc30 strip and rebuild
yeah im not too fussed about loosing the OE ones, if i could of kept them i would of though, (i did have a peak through your build to see what was going on the rear of your bike and there's a nice shot on p35 and it shows just how tight it is even with the little diamonds you put on)
i think these are called "atoms" heh and yeah they just sit on a 10p ,
as regards to the am-pm decals ,when you first put the piccys up of the bike i just fell in love straight away but never thought id be in the position to do it, then i saw your decals up for grabs but missed them, so i mailed brooky as it meant you'd had a change of plan (i never intended to tread on your toes on this scheme) and i dont think mine will be as accurate for sure , its a vfr for starters , still waiting for the seat unit from gav at the mo and have lowers to order yet too

Re: Deviants nc30 strip and rebuild
I was never bothered about my toes being stepped on so to speak, everyones bike is there own, do with it what they please :)
Theres no reason why you cant make it accurate on a VFR, you've got the seat unit so your half way there you just need a suzuka nose cone of some sort. Getting all those stripes trimmed to size and fitted right is going to be one hell of a job tho, just so you know all the stripes are over sized length wise so they can be trimmed to fit, good luck

Nice rebuild with that black powdercoated frame, black wheels and lovely TSR system. Did you had an GSXR genny mod on this bike. It revs up nicely on the footage you posted. Love to see the finished bike
Nice work!

no the motor is bog standard at the moment, running standard airbox/filter, snorkel/flap all standard and 118/120 mains, standard needles not raised, slides un-drilled,micpec wrote:Nice rebuild with that black powdercoated frame, black wheels and lovely TSR system. never had a problem with the running of the bike and only a very slight flat spot mid range and ive been able to live with that,
once she is back on the road a bit of dyno time will be on the cards to really see whats going on , then ill start to tweak it a bit if needed , im a firm beliver of "if it aint broke dont fix it" ,
i read on here all the time of people running into more problems in the quest for the odd hp more, im in no position to tell if she is down on power as ive only ever had this one nc and have nothing to compare it too but for me i feel she runs well (at the mo)
i am really interested in the gixer mod and would love to know a bit more on the pros/cons of having this done
