so the verdict (after all that trouble!) is that they are great for sidelights but shite for instrument backlights?

hang fire, what about using them with Mr Fens white dail faces, it might be enough light to show the gauges but not enough to dassle the rider, all might not be lost here guys ....

I have a tyga spark front end and gets through the mot everytime with no side lights.
