I made an airbox using both foxeye and 400 airboxes, did the usual mod on the 400 lower half,
and cut out the snorkel area from the 400 cover and glued in the 600 section including 600 snorkel, you can also use the 600 filter.
Hope you can understand that.

I have found a R6 complete engine year 2005 (injection) with 9.000km. Does any one knows if it fits in a 3tj frame like the fzr600 4jh? If the back mount fits and i just have to make the front mount i will buy that engine.

Nope - not a good fit.

The gearbox is stacked and everything was revised. Use a 4JH

Hi, first of all I will introduce myself.
My name is Hamish, I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. I am 21 and own a 1988 FZR400 1WG.
I have recently got hold of a 1988 3HE FZR600 motor. I have removed the old motor and got the new one all in and mounted. Need to do a couple of little things like the throttle cable.
However, my main question is what people have found to do with the wiring. The ignitor module I have now does not plug in, I have access to the plugs and loom from the 600 which im getting soon. Would just like to know how to merge the 2 looms so I can get her singing!
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
:ninja:
Thanks Hamish

Personally I'd look to drop the 600 loom in and use that aspecially if you have the CDI. You might have to use a couple of spacers for the tank shroud and it's easier if you can use the 600's downpipes ... apart from that the engine should fire up.

Welcome to the forum :)
I'm assuming you have a 1988 3en1 model - hover pipe air intakes above two headlights ???

the two motors are very similar, but the t/cat has forged instead of cast pistons and stronger con rods (which was the fzr600s achilles heel in racing).the t/cat also uses a throttle position sensor on the carbs and has a forced ramair airbox.be wary that both motors can lose 2nd gear though its not too common, though the 4jh motor in my 1st hybrid did this.fzr600s tended to be owned by nutters and thrashers whilst the t/cat was a more sports tourer option and they had a slightly less sports/track focus.a good way to do the conversion is to buy a whole t/cat (which i did) take what you need and flog the rest on e-bay.doing this means you can try and test the motor and gearbox to make sure their ok. i bought a tatty 21000 mile cat for 500 quid and by the time id taken the motor, carbs, loom, downpipes and clocks and sold the rest id broken even and the bits i needed hadnt cost me anything.the beauty of doing it this is you have every thing you need in one place.here are the parts numbers and exploded diagrams for the 4jh and 4tv-have a look and you can cross reference the parts and look at the difference between the motors

these have been invaluable to see which bits retro fit the 4jh or 4tv-have fun!!!!!
