If the shock is longer that will lower the bike wont it?
i think the oposite, mine seems about an inch higherish,

i fitted today, how much preload did you wind in?

ive set all the damping, rebound and compression to the mid, but might just send each a click over, i shaved only the right hand side of the mount off to give a small ammount of clearance on the battery/under tray mount, saving me having to file as much off.

will update my own thread in a moment lots of pics to come :D

Yes sorry my bad, bit of a 'durr' moment on my behalf. The Bmw longer shock will raise the bike.
For some reason I had it in my head the linkages worked the other way.
So no need for the RVF parts. Woohoo!

I didn't Rick, HM set the preload for me. Will probably change when setting the sag though.

Got some work done to the engine, cheeky bar steward who sold me the engine snapped on of the exhaust studs and swapped it round. So of course it was too short. Luckly I had a spare stud set and gaskets which allowed me to get the manifold on.

Just waiting on a few more bits and it can go in the rolling chassis.

Looking good pal, dont spose you have a decent stud extractor i could borrow to get a exhaust stud out? ive tried the weld a nut on method and it just snapped the stud so need one of those extractors that grip it.

You know i think your onto something with this shock height, my chain is resting on my exhaust and linkages look lower than usual need to work something out

I cant see how a shock thats 3mm longer than stock will cause any issues, most aftermarket shocks are longer than stock.

I reckon its the tyga exhaust system. On my other vfr that runs a tyga system and RVF linkages the chain runs so close to the shock and exhaust pipes no matter what I move around.

its the pipe work for sure the bike is definitely taller im only a short arse, 30inch legs and 5'5" tall and went from being flat footed to on my tip toes so there a couple of inches at least im going to adjust my chain and might rotae the hub back to drop and inch off the height and give more chain clearance on the pipes i have my hub upside down you see

With the better half away for the night I got some more garage time in. Drunkn Munky kindly donated two fooked undertrays to me, with my intention being to make one good one. Also to lose some of the un-needed plastic.

Started off like this.

Ended up like this. The bike will be on a daytime MOT, which is why I have kept the number plate mount. Kept the rear reflector for the lols as they always seem to get cut off.
Image

Had some left over reflective material so used it to replace the rotten one that covers the battery box.
Image

All cleaned and fitted to the bike, just missing one bolt which I cant find atm.
