are your pad pins new? if not have a good look at them as they do wear and that could mean the pads don't return properly as they sit in a groove.

Taggy I will have a look today at the pins, and see what they are like!

EC no the M/C has not been touched, I was told that by undoing the banjo on the M/C and checking to see if they are still tight that would eliminate the M/C being at fault. But I would have thought that would not of made a difference because when the M/C is released it should in theory suck the pistons back in? I never questioned it though.

I will have a look for a M/C if you think that would cure the problem maybe a R6 one?

Cheers guys

The master being released does not suck the pads back in, all that does is expose the return hole in the master's piston allowing fluid to flow back from the hoses/calipers. The seals returning to square shaped is what pulls the pistons back. If you polished your pistons too much, reducing their OD slightly, instead of slightly rolling and deforming the seals when you apply the brakes they may just be sliding past, which means there is no force trying to pull them back when you let off the lever.

I have had a quick run through the postings here and see no mention of what brake lines you have,
Do you have rubber or braided,I ask this because rubber lines have a habbit of breaking up internally,
Allowing the fliud to be pumped to the calipers but not return.

And thats why i never questioned it

That makes sence to be fair, although I don't feel like I over polished them (which I most probaly did!) possibly they where squashed when they where taken out by pliers by a previous owner causing them to form a slight oval shape? Pistons where the last thing I wanted to have to replace, but it looks like I am going to just replace them :(

Many thanks

Brake pistons have been orderd, they should be hear tomorrow. I have to admit I am not feeling at all that confident that they will cure the problem. At £80 though for both sides wish me luck
