I've just read through this whole thread and I can only come up with 3 things.
1. You are unluckiest man alive to have so many problems on a bike which is so easy to get running.
2. You have buggered up everything you have touched and your going round in circles.
3. It's a wind up!!
I'm inclined to go for 3! Come on own up who is it??

First check:
1. +ve multimeter probe on ignition unit black/white wire, -ve probe on ignition unit green wire.
2. Ignition switch in the ON position and run/stop switch in the RUN position.
3. Should measure 12 volts DC.
Second check:
1. +ve multimeter probe on ignition unit black/white wire, -ve probe on any chassis earth point.
2. Ignition switch in the ON position and run/stop switch in the RUN position.
3. Should measure 12 volts DC.
Second check to confirm that ignition unit has a earth return to chassis.

Im with no. 3 too
In the event that its not tho sit down and think about it, if it was in a rideable condition before you started messing around with the starter clutch then its something you've done whilst sorting the problem. We can all sit here and suggest you do this or you do that but we dont know what you've messed with or how you went about it.
Read the appropiate section in the haynes manual, understand it, take it apart following the manual and then reassemble following the manual. Do that with everything you've touched on the bike (that might take some time lol) then report back
