Didnt read the manual very well did you the pin that holds the pads together as you say is a allen headed pin which is behind that flat headed screw you cant remove. Use a well fitting screwdriver and some muscle and it'll come out.

That screw hides an allen headed pin.

yes the first part, the pin plug is the one that wont move.. its stuck solid, so without that removed i cant get to the pin...

Well, as has been said, you have a few options. Big screwdriver, impact driver, or effectively hammer and chisel on the edge of the slot. The first two are obviously the most preferable... lol

hmm i could try and hammer it down with the screwdriver to brake any of the corrosion, and then twist it off, hopefully that will work.

It is going to be a total bastard to get out...so you need a very nicely fitted screwdriver and some strength...or an impact driver and twat the fucker.

My bet, no slight on you at all - it will round and shred itself and you'll have to drill it..

Touch wood, I've always been able to remove them with a little screwdriver abuse. However, I did replace them this time around as they were tatty, and one seemed like it was about to tear in half!

i think and impact screwdriver, a vice and a hammer should do it. going to buy one tomorrow hopefully. i dont want to risk drilling the screw etc.
