Took the lower fairings off, found there is a touch of scraping to the very underside and a very small crack in the LHS, you'll never see it unless you're really looking though.


There was a bit of a bonus too, one of the airbox lid bolts was missing, I found it stuck to the LHS rubber/foam sheet. :D I'd forgotten to order a new one too so a double bonus!

Fitted the new clutch cable, clutch adjuster (to replace the nasty red alloy one[1]) and lever


Then the brake lever


Then fitted the other end to the gear shift

[1] Which I'm 100% sure fscked the clutch cable it's both very worn/damaged and there is no way a clutch cable should need replacing at that low a mileage!

Man those levers look sexy in black! Are the rearsets GP style or street style shift pattern?

And maybe whoever fitted that mankey red adjuster buggard the cable up? Mine was all freyed and rough too!

Yeah, I'm liking them a lot, dunno if they'll stay black but if not there is always smooth hammerite or if all else fails a swap back to silver.
The rearsets can be either but they're street at the moment, she's not tried GP style and isn't keen to. I have tried it however and apart from one near fsck up got on rather well with it so it will be on my SV for the next outing. :D

I don't think it was the fitting, the inside of the adjuster was all worn away, I just don't think aluminum is suitable for that application! I'd normally expect about 25k (miles) from a clutch cable.

A bit more work, finished rebuilding the clocks with the new back on (once I got the speedo knob out!).
Slight issue with refitting, the riv-nuts that hold the clocks in place protude slightly so the 'top-hat' inserts are further out than they should be and the clocks aren't 100% fixed. I'll just file a few mm off them to match.

I then took the lower fairings apart, I think I'll be replacing the lower bolts with stainless ones, these are manky and were a bitch to remove!

Then my wife set upon cleaning and polishing the fairing panels, so far she's managed the V piece (I took off the mesh which I'll respray).

This bike is spreading, most of it is in the kitchen, most of the bodywork is in the spare room, some carbon bits in our bedroom and now the lower fairing is now in the living room!

On a related note I bought some vinyl to do the rear single seat on NC35#1, the black is a bit shiny in comparison to original (only really going to matter if you compare it to a std NC35 side by side), the red is near enough the same but the blue is wrong, it needs to be more purple. Oh well, it was only 1.20 a sheet so 2/3 isn't bad. :D

Er, sorry got carried away there, with a fairing panel drying in the bathroom that's every room with NC35 bits in!

My wifes been busy cleaning and polishing the fairings, looking very shiny!

I have these in my bedroom, the boot of the motor's got a couple of NC24 exhaust systems in there and dont' get me started on the bits of the 35 :D

That reminds me, I really should remove the CBR600RR wheel from the boot, only been in there a month or so...
