Re: New twin seat NC30 TYGA seat unit preview pics
Meh.........I don't like it at all. It would probably look better with their matching pointy front end which I also don't like. Their RC45 style seat on the other hand is rather pleasant indeed and does work well with the standard front. I think in order to get any of TYGA's pointy stuff looking half way right you have to go the whole hog and get the complete kit but keep it in track bike form because as Monkey says the lights just look wrong. The problem with the lights is that TYGA can only go with what's being produced already for the scooter market and it's never gonna look right. I suppose they could go with original CBR6 lights but I dread to think how much a set of those would be.

Re: New twin seat NC30 TYGA seat unit preview pics
Interesting thread and wanted to add our piece (from the horses mouth so to speak)...
1. On the RC211V kit (not CBR600 kit which was derived from the RC211V styling too) we tried to be as faithful to the RC211V as possible and any similarity with the CBR is coincidental. It is true that the NC30 will never look identical to an RC211V because our start point is a 20 year old street bike not a million dollar race bike. We had a lot of requests to do this kit and over the years a lot of sales so many people do like it and for those who don't that is ok with me because we sell stock shape bodywork too
.
The only thing it needs now is a nice meaty swing arm and rear wheel!
Compare below:

I think the kit does what it intended to do which is make over the NC30 cosmetically in a way which is satisfying for the many people who like to customise their bike or tinker at the weekends as well as riding which is all part of the ownership for many people. Not for everyone, I agree but it is all reversable and this kit simply replaces the stock stuff so there is not a case of one or the other. Both are possible and you can change back and forth if you have the time to fit the kits. If you have stock plastic in good shape you can protect it in storage and run our kit until you want to sell it or whatever. However you look at it, there are more choices and that is what it is about.
2. Twin seat. People have been bugging us to make one of these for years. (Some people only have one bike and girlfriend...) The subframe on our RC211V kit is designed for rider only and in the interests of keeping things simple and hopefully cheaper, we retained the stock subframe. The passenger seat pad is actually in the stock position so the angle should be more or less correct. It is very challenging to make a seat unit and retain the stock subframe without resorting to cutting it. We managed to achieve this and as well as the practical advantage of passenger carrying capacity, it also retains a storage compartment. Not for everyone, that's cool but I think it fills a gap in the market
3. Headlights. Correct, we are limited to what is available in the market. We (or rather most customers) can't afford new CBR600RR headlights and in any case they are probably too wide for the 400 unless you want it to look like a porky in line four! We did get a copy one from China but the quality was not there (like most things from China) and at least the lights we use are OEM quality and made from the correct plastics with no scratches from the factory unlike the Chinese ones. We have recently changed our kits to use halogen bulbs which are much brighter than the incandescent ones and we have a new fairing kit which will be ready soon which hopefully at least some members of this forum will find attractive. We will launch it with a seat compartment cover for the passenger seat position so if you are not feeling lucky with the girls you can at least look cool on your bike. We have a few other bits and pieces in carbon which will be included in the kit too.
We'd be interested in what you think. Only have the one sneak shot so far.

The kit consists of upper, headlight, screen, mirror and meter stay, airducts and consoles and fits on a stock shape lower. We are trying to make it look modern but with some design elements from the NC35 in particular. Should fit the NC35 too by the way.
We intend to paint it in the same colours as the later RVFs

Re: New twin seat NC30 TYGA seat unit preview pics
Bearing in mind I'm not a great fan of the tyga style kits you have some very valid points there Paul and comparing the 2 pics of the camel bikes does highlight what a great job you have done to replicate the gp kit. Appealing to the masses in order to sell goods and make a profit is a far cry away from someone building a one off replica in their garage, you obviously have limits and budgets to work to and like you say everything is reversable so again there's a limit to how far you can go. For what it is I think the race kit without the lights looks great, and at the end of the day If he lights bother me or others that much there's nothing stopping me from crafting my own lights into it, like I said in a previous post, done well they look great.
As for the new kit I'll reserve judgement untill I see a painted up kit, oh and the standard shaped RT coured kit you do, please tell me this will be available through gavin at jap 4? Looks a million dollors and a sure fire seller the the uk.

I've been telling myself this for years!!tygapaul wrote: if you are not feeling lucky with the girls you can at least look cool on your bike.

Kudos to you Paul & Co for making (some very good!) aftfermarket items available for these older bikes.
Not all of the bodykits are to my liking (admittedly I do like the recent pillion seat unit shape), but I do hope that you continue to produce items for these bikes for a long time to come. I've bought tyga body parts (and several other parts) in the past and have always got what I expected.
You can't expect to please all people at all times, even many new honda bikes are ugly, it's just that Mr Honda can't be reached to vent our spleens about it....
There wouldn't be many forum members that don't envy a product (or three) that you make.

D'you know what. I actually quite like that, it's still looks like an NC rather than trying to look like a CBR and because of that I think it works very well. It's get one of these from meWe'd be interested in what you think. Only have the one sneak shot so far.

Re: New twin seat NC30 TYGA seat unit preview pics
Paul, great job on the new two seat rear end!
I bought my NC last year after wanting one for years, when I originally saw a few bikes with your kits to be honest I didnt like them. But over the last few months they have been growing on me but the lack of the pillion seat always put me off. My two daughters 10 & 13 both like coming on the bike with me (future biker chicks I think!) so your new product has definetely caught my eye!
However the fact is that due to current finances, I would have to sell both children to buy and paint the twin seat unit, botheration!
Keep up the good work and if you or gavin ever needs a bike to do research, trial fittings or just randomly fit and forget a kit to, then I have a tidy red/black type 7 willing to help!

Re: New twin seat NC30 TYGA seat unit preview pics
Nope sorry it still doesnt grab my affections. i can see the faithfullness with mids and lowers, headlamps i have to say i prefer the unique RVF style which works better IMO
As for the tail, again i have to say twin seat or not, its not personaly for me, now the RVF style solo setup on the NC30 i really do like, and if they came prepainted ready to bolt on i would actually buy one i think.
As others have said, glad you see fit to keep up development for the 400's, its great to keep them alive and help keep the interest for these niche bikes.

Actually - stop press, in all fariness the picture on the tyga main site is far better than the one shown above.
from the side on you can get a far better feel for the proportions now, and in daylight too is enhances the lines and colours.
I have to say chaps i think you have done well there. i like it. it not stupidly long and as pointed upright as the last one, this really does work and suit the bikes size and lines very well.
Not too sure on the bull nose front by the bottom rad,
