WOW just when i didnt have a scooby dooo on how to take carbs apart i now do! this is wot i was just looking for ( you legend )
dose drilling just one hole play around with ur topend? and if u drilled more than one hole on the outer side wot would happen?

Drilling the slides won't affect power in any rev range, or give you more power. The size of the hole simply determines how fast the slides move as they don't operate off the throttle cable, but off a vacuum. Drill the hole too big (or more holes) and they will barely move - Do as Ibby said and stick with 2.5 mm as HRC intended and you'll have slightly better throttle response than standard.
NC30s are notoriously temperamental to carb and induction changes (airbox/filter) and even relatively small changes can cause your bike to protest in anger. Everything worth knowing about NC30 carb mods that work is on here if you have a search.

what improves the throttle responce? ive followed the guide and my mid range is amazing, but acelleration is a little poop from the line if you know what i mean jelly bean!

just seem to have a small flat spot until i get going,
i cant seem to get a smooth and fast take off revs tend to drop then build up once rolling along.
midrange is ace! i really gets the power going when im above 7k

The pilot screw settings are responsible for the power just off idle.
What are yours set to?? Standard setting is 2 turns out.
Try 2 1/4 turns out and see how you go.

Tune the pilots and float heights to get the best off idle start.
Turnt he pilot screws out 1/4 of a turn at a time until the revs stop rising then back them all in 1/8th of a turn.
Theres a classic 'lean' hole in the mid-range, stick a 0.5mm shim underneath the needles to richen up the mid-range.

Just found that the 2 front carbs have the 5 hole emulsion tubes and the rears have the 4 hole which is the opposite to this guide!!
What negative effects will this have?
