yes that is exactly what im trying to undo. the bolt in between the 3 bolts. but the gears between the clutch and the starter clutch move, even when i have the brakes etc everything held in, i just need to use a denim cloth to jam it in between the gears.

Might I suggest you place a piece of aluminum or copper metal, I have used a copper coin, between the primary gear (crankshaft) and the clutch gear (the big one) and then apply a steady force to the bolt. No shock loading.

cool no problem. basically, every time i tried to start the bike. the engine spins and spins and spins then *CLONK* the whole thing just jams... at first i thought it was the starter motor. so i took that out and inspected it.. also ran it by connecting it to the battery, and it was fully working..

now i removed the starter clutch, and check the needle roller bearings, which also look fine. and the starter clutch spins clockwise, and locks anti clockwise as it should.... and now i am stumped, i cant seem to figure out what else the problem be?... could the clutch assembly cause this problem at all? if so i may need new friction plates? im getting annoyed again stupid endless problems. :x

I had that prob on my truck. Starter motor would spin but not hook into anything.
After two or three goes it would hook up and crank the engine over.
Starter clutch seemed ok but it was the prob. it took a full strip and rebuild of the starter clutch to solve it.

Pm me your address and paypal me £5 to cover postage, i have a vfr starter clutch spare i'll send it to you.

well the jamming started Months ago. after i first come off my bike.... this was maybe.... november cant remember. but the biike would still work eventually...... its just that now... the bike wont start at all... it will jamm and jam and jam etc.... and even when it doesnt jam... the engine spins and spins, and doesnt fire up. and when it spins. it sounds like something is loose or grinding on to something else. even though the engine spins. its very...VERY annoying and strange.

Ok, I have to ask this... when you say it spins and spins...does the engine turn over or just the starter?
