only said that as i had similar on my VJ23, and if your taps a bit knackered, and coupled with constant starting attempts - its possible.
just remove all the plugs, and leave for a couple of hours and turn over by hand to minimise the risk of setting your self alight when cranking it over and firing 4 jets of fuel up into the air !

hmmm, okay il take the plugs out and leave it for a few hours and see how it goes. at the moment ive drained the oil out, and wont start the bike up yet, i am gonna check the starter clutch again and the starter motor.

If you think it is a hydraulic lock you should remove all 4 plugs, stops bending a rod. Hydraulic lock would mean a lot of fuel has run through the carbies.
Have you actually checked that the starter clutch freewheels one way and locks when turned the reverse direction?

yes, it only turns one direction, and doesnt the other. im guessing thats what its suppose to do?. and i will remove the plugs and leave it there for a few hours.

It's getting a bit complicated.
Lockig due to flooding of fuel isn't someting you can rule out yet.
Anyway.
Lets look at the starter motor.
If you remove it from the engine and connect it to a battery.. don't run it for more than about 30 seconds, but does it run constantly and ok?
In which case I think the starter motor is ok so it's something else.

okay, i had removed the starter motor last week. i disassembled it and inspected everything and it looked all fine... i have not connected it to a battery though. i will do that later on today. but there is only one connector on the motor.. do i just connect the positive lead to that?

Are you turning the starter motor over and the engine with no oil in it? You can't be....

no im not. dont worry. i just drained the oil out so i can inspect the starter clutch etc etc.

The starter motor cannot "spins and spins" if the clutch is functioning. The clutch locks the starter gears so the starter motor can drive the engine, once the engine starts it run faster than the starter motor so the clutch slips so that the engine does not drive the starter motor before you release the start button.
Are you sure that the starter clutch is not slipping when the starter motor initially tries to drive the engine and then locks at which point the starter motor stalls because the battery is flat, hence may earlier question as to the battery voltage when the starter motor runs and then "jams".
