Re: The Exhaust Thread
Aye, it is similar though - the flanges different, the final exhaust diameter is larger too.
Ref the ti/stainless - You might remember I had a system that I was told was Ti that was a actually an HRC RC45 system...in steel. Not magnetic, very bloody light..and not ti.

Re: The Exhaust Thread
Ti has rather different "lightness" compared to SS, which also can be very light indeed. You should be able to "feel" it when you lift them up for comparison. Another feel which I am pretty sure is that Ti pipes can be hold/touched within one minute after you're getting the engine to normal working temperatures and shut off. I reckon a SS pipe cannot be felt at all due to the heat in the pipes. Anyone who has the TSR half system in Ti can try this.

Re: The Exhaust Thread
TBH i know its a massive longshot but i have been praying the JHA that i bought was Ti, the bloke who sold it to me didnt know what it was and its bloody filthy apart from the pipes that are directly attached to the exhaust which have been polished this tells me it is definatly just stainless, however it is very light but i have nothing else to compare it with so its hard to tell.

Re: The Exhaust Thread
All the TI systems I have the pipes are a dull grey until they get hot and then they go to a beautiful blue.

Ahhhh not always, the answer with regard to is Stainless Steel magnetic is.......it depends.

There are several families of stainless steels with different physical properties. A basic stainless steel has a 'ferritic' structure and is magnetic. These are formed from the addition of chromium and can be hardened through the addition of carbon (making them 'martensitic') and are often used in cutlery.
However, the most common stainless steels are 'austenitic' - these have a higher chromium content and nickel is also added. It is the nickel which modifies the physical structure of the steel and makes it non-magnetic.

Re: The Exhaust Thread
To slice this "yellow mango into nice pieces and portions"....here is some more info about the JHA rare and ultra-rare SP1 systems
JHA officially produced a few good batches of the SP1 system (along with a single can full system), in either twin carbon or twin carbon-kevlar end cans. The pipes are made from stainless steel. These are the ones that can be had from time to time.
Factory JHA shot in one of their sales brochures

Ones fitted on a RT NC35

BUT!! On a highly request they did produce this similar SP1 system in a genuine complete Ti set-up....and that is including twin Ti end cans badged with shiney JHA logo's...

Hope this holy grail will be a true revelation for once and for all
