I think it may be an idea for everyone to read this, just incase they've got ideas about chasing times etc.

Funny you should say that Martin. One of my PM's to Paul was that I'm probably only gonna get a 4.5 lap pass as I'll start chasing lap-times, and I don't want to do that (unless I had an experienced 'Ring rider in front of me)

when i was there last wednesday and going round in the evening, it never ceases to shock me at the british bikers and how fucking stupid and selfish some of them are. Hardly consider myself a veteran in any way, but just spectating and watching the british on bikes is just downright frightening. Watching someone on a 996 going at a nice slow pace and not pushing it, he was out to enjoy himeself and not race, but each lap he was totaly oblivious to the queue of traffic he was holding up and panicked when cars and bikes passed either side and i counted at least 4 times he was nearly killed by staying right, then cutting the apex without checking for cars passing or coming up far faster than he was going.
It wasnt just him either, but there was one common element - brits on bikes.
Last time myself and graham were there, the dutch marshal was saying it the british that will finish the place, its been so popular with brits since featured on top gear, and the car lads are just as bad and treat it like a trackday which it really isnt.
I hope that everyone in our group makes it ok but if anyone is riding like a loaded weapon i think its fair to say something will be mentioned to them before anything happens. better safe than sorry and all that.

Yeah mate I think so its just I dont know where me bed is to be.

me bikes sorted now, new front wheel bearings, new part worns (how does that work?) standard silencer put on, new air filter, & oil, panniers fitted wahey!!

Had a bit of a chat with Marisa about it too last night. It'll only be a 4 lap ticket for me too and I'll be slowing down my lap times from the last time I was there, when there were 3 bikers killed in 1 weekend - 2 of which were Brits. I've ridden reasonably fast laps there (nothing like as quick as some people can do), but I've always kept a lot more in reserve than I would on a trackday,but I'll be leaving an even larger margin this time.

The place has been getting steadily more manic since the first time I went and the Brits are indeed the worst culprits. This'll probably be my last trip there, as I'm starting to think about all the other places I'd also like to ride in the next few years.

I think everyone should make sure they read both the post on the pb forum and make sure they read the safety advice on the Sliders Guesthouse website. It'd be awful if we didn't all make it back safe and sound, just for the sake of a lap time.

I agree - this is going to be a dangerous place and the main worry for me is the closing speed of the fast cars out there. I am not treating this like a trackday although I cannot wait to get into the Wipperman section and just flow through it. Slow and steady wins the race and I reckon that as I and only 2?? others (Marisa and Karl) will be on 400's then I will play with them rather than try to keep up with the high powered ones amongst us!

Bring it on...my bike was reliable at Anglesy and no drips or leaks from my DIY oil cooler. Am very happy with that.

Be interesting to see just how busy it is the weekend we are there last year we went slightly out of season and i think that this showed by the fact there were only the more seasoned people there.

The problem i feel is going to be that its early in the year and many people are just getting there bikes out of the garage having them serviced and then riding them still thinking they are as 'fast and unbeatable' as they were doing that one trackday in the slow group last year. This is the attitude that will continue to cast a shadow over bikers who think they can master anything and are there to show what they can do.

Everyone knows these guys, they think they shoould have the respect of everyone cars shouldnt come past and the roads are like a track where they can slam at a corner say 80mph and exit at 15 because they've messed it right up.

As for the ring i think everyone should remember that it is a public road, we're all there to have fun but lets make ourselves safer with a few things, mirrors check all the time, be clear in the lines you are taking and dont get angry if you have to keep out of the way round a section of track that looks fun, you can go round again.

I've been wondering about how we are going to work it when we are doing our laps and think that going out in pairs might be a safe idea instead of a train load of us?

I agree with the last paragraph completely. Certainly no more than 4 people as lets face it, anymore and it'll just be a moving road block! :D
