Ok, so as to be less confusing I have started another thread on the NC23 build.

Re: Smurf Blue NC29 in NZ
Could barely find time to sort my project bike out and now I have a 2nd one...glutton for punishment!
So tonight, believe it or not....I managed to get the engine back into the frame on my own!! Now in the past I have lay the bike down on it's side and slid the engine in that way but I really didn't want to lay my bike on it's side.....
...so I chocked the engine up as close to the engine mounts at the front of the frame as I could.....then I bolted only one bolt in on each side, so I could pivot the engine off them.
Then I just grabbed the base of the engine and swung it up into place while I wiggled the lower/rear engine mount bolt in. Ta Da! Done.
I still have a few more engine mounts to bolt up but it's all fairly easy from here in. I have to finish cleaning the carbs before I whack them back into place and then I have to sort all the wiring loom out. Pics to follow....

I agree the seat unit is more rounded at the front you are correct and the seat lock is different between the 23 and 29 which i hadn't noticed at first, it was the graphics that got meIcemaestro wrote:Looks 23 to me? 29 has a more pointy tail...yup differences are big!:-p.

Those carbs have come up well, is that just from using the ultrasonic bath?

Re: Smurf Blue NC29 in NZ
So yesterday I laid the wiring loom out and cleaned it up. I removed all the flaky electrical tape and re-taped the loom. Bit of a mission to be fair, especially in 30 degree heat!!
So next small mission is to fit the wiring loom back to the frame and try to remember how it all goes on again.

Re: Smurf Blue NC29 in NZ

I painted the headlight bracket gloss black and mounted the lights. Wiring loom is partially installed and I've started reattaching the coolant hoses.
I wire brushed the radiator as it had flaky paint and oxidation. I'm gonna paint it gloss black and re-install it but I've discovered that the radiator is missing the fan! So annoying. Buying 2nd hand parts is super expensive for these bikes!! I missed out on a wrecked NC29 the other day for $400....I totally should've bought it....some local bike wrecker purchased it for $400 and has already advertised the exhaust system for $350 alone. They sure know how to make money in parts those guys.
I digress.....so I'll paint the radiator and see how it turns out, or else I'll buy a new Chinese one off eBay. I've purchased those chinese radiators before and they are perfectly fine.
The throttle cables are sticking, so I've added new A & B cables to the ever growing shopping list.
