eBay 'specials' and other junk finds

A place to bang on about subjects close to your heart that affect us all as 400cc riders. general banter is rife, however rudeness and abuse seem to be the norm, If a bit wet round the ears best go play elsewhere. Auto pruning of items 31 days and older

When you register an import if you have the original import log-book everything should be fine and dandy.

If not you get a 'dating certificate' from either the manufacturer or an approved body.

In some cases it can be quite wrong.

Hence seeing 87 bikes on an L (93) plate.

Frame number checks are the best way to go if you want actual age

So what plate is an 88, well...what plate is supposed to be, I've gone by frame and engine number(correct for an 88) and fairing style(also correct for an 88 J model), so I'm pretty sure it is an 88

How about this.

A 1988 TZR125. Its a Special Edition green one. So special in fact that Yamaha never made a green TZR that looked remarkably similar to ZXR's of that approximate vintage... Would it not have been easier and cheaper to buy a ZXR in the first place?

He's so far north the lack of oxygen must have affected his lateral thinking.

And WTF is that exhaust from? A BSA?
