RE: the rectifier, think you can no longer buy the 5 pin block's anymore. When i fitted the R1 reg/rec I just crimped some spade terminals on with a dab of solder and that's worked great.

Looks very nice indeed. I do actually prefer the white wheels to black but gold would be even better.

The better option though IMO is to stick a yamaha unit on which uses standard size female spade connectors.

Well thats pretty well it now. not much left to do
Picture shows it with the side (tattiest) fairing loosely fitted on, however i have one more order to come from DS for some bolts and seals, and tank spacers etc etc, you get the idea before i do final fix and torque and use on the road.

I reckon i have thrown around a hundred quid all told in fastners and correct new OE parts for the bike. i feel it makes the bike looking at nice fastners on things like the mudguard bolts, fairing bolts, infact any brightwork in viewable areas. nothing worse than a bike with shagged tatty rounded miss fitting bolts. Also i would like to take this chance to thank the following people.

Kris, for taking the time and effort to help with the collection and securing of the bike initially and also the nosecone.
Tony for delivering the bike to me from Kris, and being a great help with the wheels.
Simon, for supplying me the exhaust and seat unit panels, one lower and a mid panel and a few other parts. this guy has some nice used parts and is a genuine guy to deal with.
Giff for donating some new rearsets and pegs to replace the nasty slippy rubber front items and the tastefull gold rear items.
Vparts for supplying me a couple of new panels from his stock list.
Natwest for not kicking off when i dipped over my overdraft limit and not sticking me with a massive charge

So what have i learned. the 35 project was easier than the 30 one for sure, it looks fantastic, and i reckon total cost to date is just shy of £2400 all done which when you think you would pay that for an average RVF i dont think i have done too badly. bear in mind over £300 was in for a pair of new old stock lowers which are in the loft for now (as i sourced a used as new left and a pretty good right hand lower). Also white wheels look great on a RR RVF but look shite on a RT for some reason. so there you have it - CRM strays from the strict path of "factory look"

At least this one i know every nut and bolt, i know its got grease where it needs it, i know nothings clapped out and knackered, i know its not a death trap and a liability. i think its a keeper. Yes there are a few cosmetic flaws i would change if i could however its way way better than most RVF's out there and for a 16 year old bike wears its years very well, however the proof is in how it rides.

Paul, this result is stunning! I like your NC35 with the white wheels on the RR scheme. And yes, regarding throwing a lot of quids on genuine bolts, nuts and washers and the like...I agree with your ideas. I already spend +300 euro just for the genuine honda parts on my project bike...like to get my project to mint as possible with a few optional trick bits here and there Keep it nice and clean!
