Cheers, had enquired on another forum :up:

It's now fitted with a stock screen and an Ohlins steering damper, looks a tonne better for it :up:

Not looking forward to renewal time, going to be over £1000 for the year, mostly due to the unsolved claim :( They've only just decided to authorize an interim payment, over 5 months waiting, and they've sent me £1072.50 out of about £3000 I'm owed for my kit and bike etc.

Ti Akra system is here, sent friday, arrived monday, that's a good service for you!

Been busy having a mooch around the NC, haven't had the drive to start rebuilding it yet :( Will be starting to strip off all the broken stuff soon, thinking of making it something properly special :D I'll update with what I get done this weekend (if anything!)

The pipes are fine, luckily (I think) I didn't use any sealant on the rear pipes, so when twatbag hit me, the can and hanger took the brunt, and the springs let the pipes work unsettle, so prevented expensive Ti porn damage.

My step mum took this pick of me and half sister, it's important to get kids into the world of bikes ASAP lol

The tear down of the NC30 has started, I'm 95% sure the swingarm wasn't damaged, there are no creases or buckles in it at all, and using a piece of wood the alignment checks out. I've chucked on my old rear wheel (REALLY scabby now after starting to nitromors it) it has a very nice BT92 on it, so will be looking out for a nice white rear wheel to have it swapped onto.

I have got some pictures, but am trying furiously to get as much done before dark as possible, fingers crossed it will live again soon, it's still taxed and insured FFS!

Bar a wankered can sleeve and hanging bracket and strap, it's fine, the system being sprung in the middle was it's saving grace, it just popped out of joint which I'm certain stopped the pipes bending :)

Right, picture time!

Started by getting the main impact area stripped down, as you can see the wheel has totally had it, I cut the tyre off so I wouldn't be tempted to use it again, even as an emergency one.

Most of the back end is off, it would appear the swingarm is actually ok, I couldn't see or feel any creases or buckles in it, and the hub is still smooth. The rear brake is currently off so I can give it a scrub, it's pretty damn manky :down:

Got it back to a state of being a roller, this is the original wheel from when I first bought it 18 months ago, it's just REALLY scabby because I started to strip the pain before I got hold of a white wheel.

I reckon to get it as far as it is now took me 2 hours with plenty of breaks, cutting the old tyre off and taking it easy :up:

I also got the carbs off, I'd not drained them after the crash nearly 6 months ago, so was worried they'd be gummed up, but are spotless inside, I did give them a quick blast to get rid of 20 years of accumulated grime and crap, not perfect, but without stripping them right down, it's a decent enough job, everything works smoothly :mrgreen:

I've gotten the radiators off, tomorrow will likely consist of me very carefully turning the engine over by hand after lightly oiling the bores, just to make sure nothing has seized up.

Today consisted mostly of cleaning the frame, rear caliper, swingarm and trying to sort out the leak on the front cylinder rocker cover, turns out the (frankly bloody stupid) rocker cover gasket had slipped a tiny bit when I put it on last, and wasn't sealing properly.


I've been offered a bead blasted rear wheel, so will have that sprayed in the same white as would have been on there originally.
