Re: VFR400 rebuild
get a filter it prevents dust from going into the slide cylinders causing them to stick open or not open at all. For £1.50 worth it
Battery the 9ah is a better battery as it has a beyter starting power and will last slightly longer if you have problems starting on a cold day i have one on mine a varta one.

Re: VFR400 rebuild
Read above, its just for the slides as they run on vacuum, wont affect jettinglizard821000 wrote:yeah the varta ones mate, ill get a 9 then.

Re: VFR400 rebuild
quick one for you guys,
the V shape piece that sits between the lower fairings, my old had a wire mesh insert but with a kink in the mesh, is this for a reson? like to go round something once its fitted coz of close contact? just need to know coz my panels aint on the bike and im going to replace it with new, just didnt know if i needed to add this center bend/kink.
many thanks :)

Re: VFR400 rebuild
Where abouts in the mesh do you mean?
Mine has a inwards curve at pretty much all the edges but it's nothing major. It's really just where it fits to the v-piece, and definitely not in the center if I am correct.

Re: VFR400 rebuild
Just need to know if I fit the mesh flat that it won't foul anything, as my old one had like a inward buldge to it, didn't know if this was for a reason. It don't look like its just been kicked in either lol looks purposely there. Cheers

Re: VFR400 rebuild
It just follows the shape of the v-piece, doesn't it? Amusingly, Honda want almost a hundred quid for that tiddle bit of mesh!! Just make sure there's no chance it can touch the rad. Been there, done that, had the rad worm through as a result...
