Looks like news is stopping for a while, if not permanently, I got rear ended by a Mercedes Sprinter van as I was stopped to turn into my junction :( I ache, and am super pissed off at the van driver (not going into what I said to him)

Oh man, that s*cks! Glad you are okay. Bikes can indeed be fixed. What you reckon with the exhaust system...titanium needs a gentle touch and repair/bend is not that easy.

I know it's a bit early to be thinking along these lines but when this is all over with you could...

Buy it back from the insurance company for salvage, reframe it with a straight frame/part it out/ sell as is for someone to do the same to

Be the owner of an rvf/cbr 600rr/ buy another vfr ( or keep your old one and reframe it but then again you put usd forks on it so maybe just buy an rvf)

Either way you'll be nicely compensated and believe me it lessens the sting a little

Hey all, long time no see  Been totally distracted with insurance phone calls, paperwork hospital visits etc.

I came away lucky from this really, I'm still suffering severe back pain, lack of sensation in my left leg, loss of movement in my right shoulder/arm, neck ache, stabbing pains in my left ankle and constant headaches, none of which seem to be even looked at when I'm on as much paracetamol and ibuprofen as the box says I can take.

I've been to the hospital for xrays on my back and leg, as there was concern from the physiotherapist that one or both might have been fractured. Luckily neither were, but I have 3 compressed vertebrae, and the 'jam' in between the vertebrae is completely missing, it looks like one big, really misshapen bone, which the doctor says is likely not to repair itself. Been very down about it, but still remember how badly it COULD have gone if the driver going the other way hadn't have swerved.

The bike has been inspected by 2 seperate assessors, my lot have gotten back to me, didn't offer me a great price, but said I could have salvage on it, so will probably reframe it. They estimated it would cost £3100 to fix, and thats WITHOUT the cost of a new swingarm! So it's pretty fucked, I'm now waiting on the other side to admit liability and pay me, then I can look for another bike of my own (got a hired 650 Blandit) am seriously thinking of an FZR 1000 EXUP (OW01 front alike) but don't want to give up the 400's they're awesome! Will hopefully find out soon :)
