Re: UPDATE Road NC30 to track NC30 in 2 1/2 years and counting
Weekend update, not sure if what I've done will work though.....
Is there any reason for the front coil to be on the left side of the bike? Reason I ask is that with the removal of the fan from the lower rad and the light switch there's only three wires (earth and both coil wires) going to that side of the bike. Surely at that point it makes more sense move the coil to the right side of the bike and shorten the loom to end up with this?

Now one thing I'm not sure about is this. When you move the coil to the right you have to swap the plug caps over i.e #4 to #2 and #2 to #4 in order for them to reach. My question is, in order to get the bike to run properly I'm assuming all you'd need to do is to put the blue/yellow wire from the loom onto the black contact on the coil and the black wire to the blueygreeny contact, the reverse of what it was before or are coils more complicated than that?

No, you connect up the coil just as it was on the other side, the caps are fully interchangable due to the "wasted spark" design, both plugs fire at the same time (one cylinder filled witj A/F mix, the other with exhaust gas).
And you are right, there is no reason why it shouldn't be on the right, now you need to put the ignition box there aswell...

As Ronni sais above, just swap over the HT leads and you'll be reet. The HRC RS 250's are still using that air guide nowadays. Here's a mates pic from Saturday, look at Michaels bike on the left,

Ducati 916, not worth a carrott

This Sunday I got busy with a few pieces I have either bought or been loaned (thanks Rhory and Aly
)
RLR top rad, made some more air guides and a couple of mounting brackets for it.

CBR900 I think? oil cooler with an adapted pump cover, lovely

This could possibly make Rhory jealous. I managed to get a set of HRC carb slides the other day for £15, bargain
