OK, Next update,
I have done some more to the frame and the swing arm is just sat there waiting to go on once I manage to remove the old one and get the spacer piece out of the way.
Here are a few pics.

Frame - the lower parts are polishing up nicely and the main spars as you can see have a hard lacquer on them protecting them. It takes alot to remove it but it shines up well once off :D



here is the offending spacer / lock nut thing 14mm allen key to remove hopefully? What size is it for the spindle that goes all the way through?


And the swing arm looking nice and shiney!!

oh i like that swinger .... is it polished like a mirror ?

its not quite mirror quality as I didn't use the mops on it - Thinking on using them once its fitted back on the frame.

The mops should bring it up to that quality :D

nah leave it like that, its looks really nice, mirror wont be as nice imo

at the moment it has a effiecient engineered look, mirror polish is more of a show bike look

the reason i ask is i'm getting a spare arm sent to me and i really like the idea of having it smoothed and polished but not shiney more of a brushed look so it looks similar to the frame.(.....mmmm yes,that will look good .....). and when i looked at yours i thought you had beaten me to it .

yours still looks top notch ,good luck polishing the rest of it bud .

It does look similar to the frame and I think it'll be easy to leave it at this point but I know it won't take too much more to get the finish I'm after.

Its still alot of work to get it to the brushed finish look too :D Let me know how you get on with yours royster.

I know that as its soo much work not alot of people will do it which makes my bike more individual again

Right - latest update is this -

After trying several shops and 40 odd miles, for a 14mm allen socket I eventually got one!

And I have now fitted my polished swingarm :D :D :D

Before I fitted it I had to obviously remove the old one - the 14mm socket fits like a glove and the spacer came undone with ease.

I haven't taken any pics as yet - the light is too poor and its bucketing it down outside!

I cleaned the frame up in that area aswell before popping the new swingarm on, just using some Gunk engine degreaser.

I'm now just about ready to refit the wiring loom and then the engine.

As for the plans for the rest of the bike -

I just want to get it back together and running nicely :)

Should be awesome with the new Dash, Rick O rads, Rick O CDI, Single seat cowl, new levers etc etc!!

the only thing I would really like to get are some carbon fibre fairing infills - I think they will complete it (well atleast until something else new and trick comes along!!)
